Default Formula 1 2017 Season

Sandbags have been cast aside, and it looks like Lewis is going to end Bottas' career just like his daddy said.

Really goes to show how under-rated Nico was.

Hoping to see Vettel fight for 2nd just to mix things up.

It was a fun race to watch, but part of that is because it's so early in the season and there were a lot of mechanical issues. It'll be interesting to see how the order is affected once everyone builds up some reliability. I had picked KMag as one of my drivers on f1manager and I'm really regretting not picking Grosjean instead.

If Lewis can get a handle on these tires, I think Ferrari will still end up 2nd in the WCC, but at least their pace in testing was real and they are going to make Merc work hard this year.

I would love to see Kimi push harder too. I think he still has it in him to give Vettel a run for his money, but he seems content with being runner up. Maybe he'll win at Spa and it'll light a fire under his ass

I understand why Max got the Drivers of the day, but Vettels passes on Kimi and Daniel made the race for me. Max's blue flag whining ruined it for me. Makes you wonder if Max would have passed Kimi if he had stayed out.

Doesn't look like the Ferraris like the heat as both drivers suffer breakdowns in Bahrain.

Great race yet again in Bahrain.

RBR hanging with the top group in the first stint shows promise and its too bad for Max suffering the failure.

Alonso vs Kyvat vs Palmer was entertaining in the back.

Alonso auto retiring if not in the points must be frustrating for McLaren/Honda.

Massa single handedly has Williams 1 point behind Force India in the constructors.

Sainz gets 3 grid places for Russia for hitting Stroll.

So many things going wrong for Lewis, but Bottas undoubtedly had the worse race. Can't imagine how getting asked to move over twice in one race will affect him for the next race and the season ahead.

Just wish there were some final lap battles.

I thought the announcers were really making too much of Lewis' final charge to the front. He had a CHANCE of catching Vettel, but it seemed highly unlikely he'd have the pace to challenge at all by that point. They were talking it up as if it was going to be this epic battle, but the laps were counting down quickly, so that was never going to happen.
Really frustrating to see McLaren doing SO poorly. Honda has really let them down and if any of the information about their development strategy is real, it's quite obvious why. They're so anxious to make big changes that they keep missing the mark on reliability. Alonso claimed that he wasn't going to quit mid-season, but I think he'll very quickly go back on that if this continues. It's just embarrassing.

The FP times were actually telling the real story?

Don't think I'm going to bother watching it on the PVR anymore:

Snoozefest. Congrats Bottas, on his 1st race win!
He helped Lewis a lot by taking 1st. If only Mercedes could get both cars setup right, we might actually see these team mates race each other.

The Sauber/Honda deal is done: http://www.skysports.com/f1/news/124...2018-f1-season [/b][/quote]

I think McLaren will end their Honda relationship next year and Alonso will be with Renault, taking Palmer's seat.

I missed the Spanish GP, and actually didn't watch the Monaco GP either, but I did watch qualifying, which is usually more entertaining anyway. Was super stoked to see Kimi on top, but immediately was left wondering what method Ferrari would use to ensure Seb got ahead of him. Everyone's saying Seb had more pace, but honestly... when Kimi was leading the race, there's no way he was pushing 100%. Nobody does when they're leading at Monaco because there's no need. So the fact that Seb put in a couple quick laps before pitting is not really an indication of pace, IMO.

Watched some of Indy. Way more interesting when you have a driver you care about, but my god.. how frustrated must Alonso be to have ANOTHER Honda engine blow up? Unreal...

I've already called a Vettel WDC, lol.

Lewis is Mr. Montreal, so if he can't win in Canada it's game over.

What a wacky race, but it was nice seeing 4 teams in it.

Crazy that it took 7 races before Mercedes had a 1-2 finish this season. I don't think they've really figured out all of their problems as evidenced by the ~20 seconds that split them.
No doubt that Lewis owns the Canadian GP but to beat the sister car by that much with no failures should be worrying. Lewis will need Valtteri to keep Seb off the 2nd step of the podium for a few more races to have a chance at the WDC.

That said, next race should go to Vettel since Lewis had such a poor showing last year.

Pretty exciting race overall. I can't imagine things staying peaceful between Perez and Ocon -- Ocon had more pace for the last... I dunno.. 30 laps? Ridiculous of Perez to hold station. Begging on the radio like "please give me the opportunity to try and pass". Seriously? You've been behind Ric for the last 20 laps. You've had more than enough opportunity, now move the fuck over.

Would have been great to see what Max could have done had he stayed in it.

Craziest dry race I've ever seen. What a bizarre, ridiculous, hilarious and yet entertaining race! Wow!

Quite a few hits that could have been avoided. Bottas & Raikonnen was particularly frustrating as a Kimi fan. Surely Bottas knew he was gonna go wide if he bounced over the curb? The Force Indias smashing into each other was pretty hilarious and clumsy. Seb bumping Lewis hahahah Then he totally pretends nothing happened after the race lol what a guy.
Stoked to see a Canadian on the podium, and setting a record at only 18 years old. I was skeptical early in the season, but he's really been putting his head down and focusing the last couple races.
Once again felt sorry for Max being held back by mechanical failures. Ricciardo's pass on the two williams was just rad. So good on the brakes..
