Default It's tax season again!

Every year I do my own taxes using online Quicktax and its fairly straight foward, but I have never tried any other tax programs.

Any recommendations? Curious if different tax software will yield different results. I see ones like Turbo Tax, H&R, Quicktax.
I keep thinking that maybe I'm missing something, or not claiming stuff that I should be, etc.

Anyone go from doing their own taxes to actually seeing someone in person such as H&R block, an accountant, to get their taxes done professionally? Were you able to get a larger refund/pay less than you thought?

I've used all of the above at different times. I have very basic returns these days, but when I was in commission sales full-time, I had expenses out the wazoo and an accountant found a LOT that I wouldn't have. Not sure if the software will net you any difference if your return is basic. The math is set by Rev Canada of course.

Be careful with H&R or the quickie places.. after working for Rev Canada for a bit - they do some weird things with your returns sometimes...

For the past cpl years we've been using the online QuickTax also. Doesn't hurt to print that out and have someone review it (for free I mean, haha)

If you have a basic return try http://www.studiotax.com/en/main.htm

It's free! I've been using it for the last 3 years. If you have one of the others, run both and see if there are any differences.

Anyone got an accountant to recommend? I would like to try have a professional do the taxes for my family this year and am weary of H&R block.

Post any findings you get! My accountant skipped the country, and I've got an extremely complicated return this year... no chance in hell am I doing it myself this time!
