Default Headphones

Hey guys,

i'm in the market for some new 'over the ear' headphones. Price isn't really an issue at this point, but I was looking around the $150-$200 range.

The main use would be primarily be at home and listening to it on my PC. I'm thinking about getting the Audio Technica ATH-M50 with a Fiio E6 amp.

Just wondering if anyone else has some good recommendations or experience with 'higher end' headphones.

I'm looking for 'monitor headphone' style sound with minimal sound leak. noise cancellation isn't necessarily a huge deal for me.

Most people cross shop M50s with the Sennheiser HD558 in that price range.

I like the Sennheiser brand as well, I don't have over the ear headphones, but the other products I have listened to from them usually have the better sound quality when compared to comparable models by other makers.

I guess with the bigger headphones you want comfort is be high as well for long term gaming?
still here...

If you're set on the M50, this deal just popped up on Gizmodo...
although might not be worth it if shipping to Canada is overpriced.

Also, not a personal endorsement, but Fostex get positive reviews and respond exceptionally well with some relatively simple acoustic damping mods(per the Head-Fi forums) and can perform well beyond their price point, I short-listed these last year for myself but stuck with my old Sonys...
