Default Home Renovations 101

Well my parents got bit by the bug, (renovation bug that is). A couple of our neighbors recently started renovating their houses. One was changing their windows, one got their driveway cemented and the other got brand new vinyl siding. So my parents started to do the same ALL at the same time. Some of you guys probably haven't been to my parents house lately so here's what it looks like now. It looks WAYYY better than before.

Before I start posting pictures here's a list of what they did so far:

-BN vinyl siding
-BN front fascia
-BN eavestrough
-BN exterior door and storm door
-BN modern style exterior lights
-BN mailbox
-BN triple pane windows
-BN 110 foot cement driveway (5"thick w/12" rebar )
-BN faucet and dual sink
-BN hardwood floor (kitchen only)
-BN light fixtures through out the house
-BN ceramic tiles (entry way front/side only)

now for the pics

hahaha I know my apology's on the dirty sink LOL

the driveway was the best part because a fellow ZuCru member was working for the company and installed extra rebar for us. they usually install the rebar @ 18" OC but instead he put it @ 12" OC. Our driveway is as strong as it can get. hahaha thanks bud!

Next year we'll be building an over sized garage, new landscaping and BN cabinets and doors and another set of exterior doors.

this is a picture of another house on our street which sold for $175,000 recently. It has a similar layout as my parents house minus the work we did. I'm sure once we get all our stuff done next year, the value of our house would near at least $200,000 or more. not bad considering the original purchase price was $84,000 but that was 20 years ago.

Looks Good Don.

Who did your parents hire to do all the work?
Is the subaru leaking oil? cause there is a huge smear on the driveway. You could probably try absorb-all and then maybe brake cleaner to wash it out.
That really sucks considering how new the driveway is. Is everything alright, mechanically? That looks like original JDM oil too.

Good luck on the sale. That would be a nice profit.
I'm glad my parents aren't selling yet, i'm not sure where i would stay.

House prices are crazy! My mother-in-laws new neighbours paid $10-15k over the sellers asking price without even visiting the home I believe, just looking through pictures. Yay that you can sell your house for a lot, but boo when it comes time to purchase a new home, prices will be insane

If you're selling your house and then buying a house, you're pretty much just trading dollar for dollar.

PS. All your name are belong to me
