Wow, Maldonado warned his seat is in jeopardy.

Quote:
Pastor Maldonado has been warned by Lotus that his Formula 1 seat is not guaranteed despite the considerable financial support he receives from PDVSA.

Venezuela's state-owned oil and gas company has backed Maldonado throughout his career, following the 30-year-old from Williams to Lotus after he left the former team at the end of 2013.

Maldonado has since scored just two points - from a ninth-placed finish in last season's United States Grand Prix - from 23 races to date with Lotus.

Despite that lack of results, Maldonado's position in the team is regarded by many as untouchable given the estimated $27million PDVSA provides in sponsorship to Lotus.

CEO Matthew Carter insists that is far from the case, despite AUTOSPORT revealing this week the team's forthcoming accounts show its deficit had been slashed from 64million in 2013 to just under 6million in '14.

Damn near fell asleep watching the Spanish GP so thanks Romain and Fernando for providing a bit of pit entertainment. Heard that jack man's ankle ligaments were torn though. Ouch!

I'm hoping that Monaco and Canada offer a bit of a shuffle in the pecking order. Maybe Ferrari will have more opportunity to challenge at the front. Maybe the McLarens' power deficit won't be so critical..

Of course as a Lewis fan, I was livid... But I did crack a smile when that bastard Vettel said he was happy post interview.

Hamilton (post race) was the highlight of the race for me. The team was to blame for losing him the guaranteed win.

I'm a HAM fan, but seeing him hit the sign after the race made me giggle.

Glad to see Button get a few points. Does this mean he's outperforming Alonso? The Toro Rosso duo is turning out to be pretty exceptional. I think either one of them could be a future world champion. Sucks that Verstappen is claiming that Grosjean brake-checked him, when the data shows otherwise. I love watching the kid race, but he needs to accept that he misjudged that pass attempt.

Calgary has a new karting track, I'm thinking of signing up for a Try-a-Kart session.

Montreal served up a reasonably exciting race again with some great battles between Massa/Ericsson and Alonso/Vettel. I'm actually surprised Vettel made it through that race unscathed considering the ballsy (maybe even stupid?) moves he was taking. It makes for an entertaining race, but I think it's just shear luck that he didn't end up in the wall or pushing someone else into the wall.

So frustrating to see Kimi make an error like that goes into the hairpin. Podium finish was his to lose and he lost it. The only good thing to take away from Montreal is that even on a power circuit, Ferrari can beat most of the Mercedes-powered teams, so hopefully they can be pretty competitive the rest of the season.

McLaren frustrations are boiling over! They need to set everything to max and blow up engines to fail faster and learn from them.

For once, Maldonado avoided an incident. Grosjean, on the other hand, lolz.

Yeah, Maldonado actually looked like he was driving with his baby in the car or something -- giving everyone a wide berth and going out of his way to avoid crashing. Absolutely shocking -- maybe Lotus started charging him for replacement parts?

Grosjean: "He hit me! He hit me!" oooookay, Romain.. maybe you should be playing soccer.

What a boring race. Nothing to watch as the top two just cruised to the win. Starting to tune out this season now.

Bit of a snoozefest for me, especially after the 5 second penalty on Lewis. I never really liked this track also.
Rosberg deserved the win and I was happy Vettel didn't pass Massa.

Can't believe how many ways Williams can find a way to fuck up their strategy in one race. Not sure how much of a difference it would have made after the rain started falling anyway, but jesus.. what a mess!

Also, I've been a huge Kimi fan for nearly a decade, but he just can't seem to get results this year! It looked like he was back on track through practice and quali and he started the race reasonably well, but then it just all fell apart. Very frustrating to watch. That said, I saw an onboard shot from Vettel's car leading up to the pass, and my god that guy can wrestle the car in the rain.

What a roller coaster of a race! Nico just isn't a champion with a fearful decision choosing the primes in the last stint. Lewis owned up to his mistakes, and I still enjoyed watching him come through the field. Daniel is also great to watch on this track and I just lost it after the clash with Nico.
Didn't think I'd see RBR on the podium this year!
